Tyler Thompson is slightly obsessed with writing musicals. He has written three full musicals that have been produced on stage: Liven Up!, Shine!, and Colored Gray which he co-wrote with Kelci Ray and Aubrey Severne. His most recent musical, Too Many Voices, has had Staged Readings at Brigham Young University, and at The Harrington Center. He has also written the music for several short musicals that have been performed at BYU, and wrote the ten minute play Till Death Do Us Part that was staged at BYU's Microburst New Play Festival 2025 and was an honorable mention in the Meyhew Playwriting Competition. His ten minute play Crowded Mind was one of the winners of the 2025 STAged by U playwriting competition. Most recently he had a concert reading at BYU of a full-length original musical comedy, Tech Week for José, which he co-wrote with Kelci Ray. Tyler is a Theatre Arts Studies Major at BYU with emphases in Playwriting, Dramatugy, and Directing. He is currently working on several new projects for the stage.
